On March 10, 2012 Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County (Habitat CFC) hosted nearly 250 attendees at the 13th Annual Hearts and Hammers Gala at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich. Guests enjoyed dinner and dancing to the tunes of eta music as well as the chance to bid on luxury live and silent auction items.  The event was supported by Presenting Sponsor Aurora Products as well as General Electric, Compass Management Group, The Citrone Family, First Niagara Bank, Bigelow Tea, The Massoud Family, Stamford Hospital, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens Magazine and Mr. Ralph Walker & Ms. Jamie Hewitt.

Supporters raised more than $150,000 to help Habitat CFC continue to transform communities and improve the lives of hardworking, low-income families by building affordable homes and neighborhoods. Honorees, the City of Stamford, accepted by Mayor Michael A. Pavia; Stamford Community Development Office (SCD), accepted by Mr. Timothy Beeble; and the Community Bridgebuilders Coalition (CBC), accepted by outgoing President Mr. Robert Stephan, were recognized for their outstanding contributions to Habitat CFC’s first ever build in Stamford. The 8-unit townhouse style condominium complex on the city’s west side- an area targeted for revitalization – offers first time homeownership opportunities to working, low-income families.

“Habitat CFC is honored to work with such committed and passionate partners as the City of Stamford, the Stamford Community Development Office and the Community Bridgebuilders Coalition.  Their efforts have provided Habitat the opportunity to expand our services to more low-income families in need and engage a wider network of concerned citizens in our communities,” said Bruce Berzin, Habitat CFC Co-President.
